Middle Grade Author & Playwright
Nicole Panteleakos is writer, thespian, and fanfiction enthusiast. Her debut novel, PLANET EARTH IS BLUE (Wendy Lamb Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House) was released on May 14, 2019, with a second book to follow in 2022. Her focus is on middle grade novels with heart and hope, life after grief, embracing one's self, and finding one's family - whether that be with relatives or with friends.
Nicole is represented by agent Katie Grimm at Don Congdon Associates and belongs to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She was a 2018 & 2019 #PitchWars Mentor and a 2016 #PitchWars Mentee. She is currently completing an MFA in Children's Literature at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. Nicole has written for several magazines and newspapers and her plays have been performed in many schools and community theatres, in addition to having twice been showcased off-Broadway.

Originally from a farm town in Connecticut, Nicole spent many years in Brooklyn, New York before heading south to North Carolina. She grew up doing community theatre and has enjoyed taking classes in stop-motion animation, both of which are the inspiration for upcoming middle grade projects. From 2019-2020, she was the National Youth Activities Ambassador of the VFW Auxiliary, through which she started a literacy program to get thousands of recently written, diverse, historical fiction and creative non-fiction books into the hands of kids & teens around the country. When not writing, Nicole can usually be found doing art projects with her godchildren, playing Animal Crossing with her fiancée, or spending time with her family's home menagerie, which includes seven cats, three dogs, four ferrets, two budgies, one African Gray parrot, a baby bearded dragon, and a turtle that might be a zombie.
